ABOUT US
The Currajah Hotel in Wangan is a relaxed pub with good old-fashioned country hospitality. The name Currajah is Aboriginal and means “Place of Water”. First built in 1911 as a two-storey hotel, the pub was completely destroyed by fire on October 3rd, 1931. Re-built in 1933 as it stands now, with a few additions and alterations made over the years, the Currajah is rich with historical significance.
Situated seven kilometres from the Innisfail township, The Currajah has two bars, a kitchen and the beautiful ‘5 Mile’ Beer Garden that can cater for functions of up to 100 people. With swings beside the outdoor dining area and a room designed for the kids to play in, the “Jah” is known for being family friendly.
The “Jah” is a great place to catch up with friends and enjoy one of our tasty generous sized meals, or to just stop in for a quick ‘coldie’ after work. We regularly host a number of talented musicians to entertain our patrons with awesome live music.
We hope to see you soon at The Currajah Hotel!
